The Challenge:
For the New Zealand-based retailer Torpedo 7 and their agency, Supernormal, the “2024 Problem” was a literal matter of timing. To launch their latest winter sport collection, they needed high-impact winter visuals while New Zealand was still in the depths of summer. The objective was to create a campaign that didn’t just look like a standard gear catalogue, but felt like a global adventure—utilizing Japan’s unique geography to showcase a “fresh, international twist” on outdoor lifestyle.
The Plan of Attack:
Street Attack acted as the strategic scout and production engine, designing a shoot that spanned the full spectrum of Japan’s aesthetic variety. We moved the production from the hyper-urban density of Tokyo—capturing the “street” side of the brand—to the rugged, snow-draped peaks of Hakuba. Our team didn’t just find locations; we curated them to represent “all four seasons” within a single, cohesive narrative.
Beyond the scenery, Street Attack led the casting efforts, sourcing talent that authentically embodied the brand’s “adventurous spirit.” By coordinating complex urban permits alongside high-altitude mountain logistics, we provided a seamless environment for the Supernormal team to capture the collection in motion. The resulting film bridges the gap between urban fashion and technical performance, delivering a visually striking campaign that allowed Torpedo 7 to stay ahead of the seasonal curve.
